"My company manufactures high end electronic cigarettes and premium E-liquid. We chose Simone for the design of our E-liquid label and retail packaging based on her style and professionalism and she did not disappoint. She was able to pinpoint the style that we were looking for very quickly and immediately sent us recommendations.

Throughout the entire design process Simone sent us detailed updates and guided us through the decision process. The process was simple, straight forward, and easy. Her level of creativity brought us options that we could not have developed on our own.

At the end of the day, Simone was a crucial part of our product design process, and provided us with an extremely well thought out design with minimal work from myself and my associates. This allowed us to focus on other tasks related to our new product. I will definitely recommend Simone to any of my friends who are looking for a thorough and creative designer."

Delux E-liquids
I was approached by this client to create label and box designs for his E-liquid. Vaping was a new field to me, however, the client gave me so many rich details about what he wanted, that it was easy to realize what he needed.

The client wanted his brand to be about exclusivity, appealing to a youthful and hip street style, with some modern elegance. The chosen key words were: - Dark, Urban, Elegant, Upscale, Minimal, Slightly Gothic.

I gave it some thought, examined the pictures the client sent to inspire me, and realized what he needed: Art Deco

What is Art Deco?
Art Deco is a style of visual arts, architecture and design that first appeared in France just before World War I. It became popular in the 1920s and 1930s, and influenced the design of buildings, furniture, cars and many things. The most famous examples were the skyscrapers of New York, including the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, and Rockefeller Center in New York City.

During its heyday, Art Deco represented luxury, glamour and exuberance.
The later period of the style, called Streamline Moderne, features curving forms and long horizontal lines.

Art Deco combine modern aesthetics, fine craftsmanship and expensive materials, and became the symbol of luxury and modernity.
Now, with all the curving forms and horizontal lines in mind, it was time to
sketch the logo! (My favorite part)

I gathered some fonts, and sketched some Art Deco and Gothic inspired customized letters for the client to choose from. He decided to go with a less Gothic, and more Art Deco direction - Metropolis Font. It was a great move in my opinion. In the end, I was able to achieve greater consistency with the package design because of it.
With the logo approved by the client, it was time to
create the patterns for the labels!

It had to be simple and striking. I researched Art Deco architecture with 2 things in mind:
Curved forms and horizontal lines, never forgetting the client requested a minimal look to the design.

To keep the minimal and elegant look, I created a label with a glossy black pattern printed on black paper (UV Spot).
For the box design, I wanted to stay away from just replicating the patterns used on the labels, and go for something new.

Tiny City on a Tiny Box.

I decided to make a little city, utilizing the boxes. I used both the left and right sides of the box to place the buildings. I suggested using golden foil, so whenever the light changed, the little windows would appear to glow, giving the feeling of a city that was alive.
Thank you for watching!
